Let us not box GOD in!

In the modern Hollywood culture of violence, sensational movies involving paranormal and new age themes, and depictions of spirit beings, angels, and demons that are theologically immature, perhaps we are loosing sight of the true transcendent nature of GOD who could wipe all creation, the entire cosmos in all of its physical and spiritual aspects, completely out of existence with an utterly effortless act of HIS ALMIGHTY WILL.

Since we seem to have forgotten this fact, it is no wonder why we are as a civilization becoming more lazy about contemplating the awesome reality of creation, which is GOD’s handiwork outside of HIMSELF and HIS Pride and Joy, but worse yet, that we have lost sight of just how existentially and ontologically large GOD is and have forgotten just how much he dwarfs all of creation. A respect for GOD is one way we can more fully respect each of the created persons he has made such as each one of us, all angels, and any other forms of created persons that are not currently known to humanity at least not on any public scale. For GOD does not create junk, never has, and never will.

We as Catholics are granted the great gift of the REAL PRESENCE of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST in the SACRED SPECIES OF THE CONSECRATED HOST AND BREAD,  which is the BODY AND BLOOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

However, we can sometimes try to box GOD in and OUR LORD JESUS in as if HE is only the SACRED SPECIES OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST.

Each of the THREE DIVINE PERSONS is TRULY and COMPLETELY  GOD and THEIR DIVINE NATURE is by definition, IMMUTABLE. Quite simply, the DIVINE NATURE CANNOT CHANGE nor is IT capable of change.

Rest Assured, were the Earth to be ablissimated in some unlikely chain reaction set off by a thermonuclear or atomic weapon of optimized mass specific energy yield and radiative power flux density, that might cause a thermonuclear fusion reaction to propagate throughout the Earth’s Oceans, thus leading to the complete ionization of the Earth, and the complete dissolution of all of the instances of the Consecrated SACRED SPECIES, THE DIVINE NATURE OF CHRIST would not be in the least bit effected in terms of HIS Ontological and Existential Attributes quite simply because the DIVINE NATURE IS UNCAUSED BEING AND AS SUCH IS IMMUTABLE.

As for JESUS’s HUMAN BODY INCLUDING HIS EXALTED AND GLORIFIED BRAIN AND HIS SPIRITUAL AND IMMORTAL SOUL,  sure OUR LORD would be pissed off to say the least if we Humans allowed such a catastrophe to happen, however, even the HUMAN NATURE OF OUR LORD, would not be in the least bit corrupted in terms of HIS RESSURECTED PHYSICAL but SPIRITUALIZED BODY and HIS SPIRITUAL and IMMORTAL SOUL nor in further terms as to the existence of such, HIS substantial, ontological, existential, and moral integrity.

Now, I am not at all advocating a devaluation of the GREAT GIFT of the HOLY SACRAFICE OF THE MASS, nor the REAL PRESENCE in the HOLY EUCHARIST, but I am resolute that we must not box GOD in by thinking we can somehow alter or manipulate HIS GREATNESS or HIS GLORY or HIS DIVINE NATURE which by definition, IS UTTERLY CHANGELESS and INCAPABLE OF CHANGE.

Many of Catholic Clergymen  and Laypersons such as myself may have forgotten this and may have thus lost a sense of the utterly transcendent reality that is EACH OF THE THREE DIVINE PERSONS, THE DIVINE NATURE in general, THE GODHEAD WITHOUT REFERENCE TO PERSONHOOD as PURE UNCAUSED DIVINE BEING THAT IS THAT IT IS, GOD AS THE HOLY TRINITY, etc.

Sure, we must work all the more in earnest to promote the DOCTRINE of the REAL PRESENCE in a world that seems to be falling away from a knowledge of the REAL PRESENCE, especially in many portions of Europe where the Churches are almost empty even during Sunday MASS. However, the concepts I am expressing in this article are not opposed to the DOCTINE OF THE REAL PRESENCE,  and the two focuses are not at all incompatible with each other.

To say that such a two pronged heuristic and epistemological approach is not possible is like saying that bodily extraterrestrial persons on other planets as persons composed of a created Spiritual and Immortal Soul united substantially to a created physical and living body cannot exist because they are not human nor are they of a genetic unity with the human race

I personally feel that there may be enumerable created civilizations within this vast cosmos GOD has created and who are we to box GOD’s creative might in by our own anthropocentricity.

 

We often hear of phrases such as GOD is Love, GOD is Almighty, GOD is all knowing, and the like which are defined in terms of actions such as loving, knowing and the like.

However, there are some ineffable qualities of GOD that seem to have been lost in our modern culture of moral relativism and action based existentialism.

First, we have forgotten that GOD is Pure Being. As HE states in the Old Testament, I AM THAT I AM, or I AM HE WHO IS, or I AM as he describes HIMSELF to our Jewish Brethren in Ancient times. Our Jewish brothers and sisters have some insight in holding this ancient Name of GOD in utter reverence or the name YAHWEY. In this world of action and frenzied activity, we have forgotten the stillness and eternity of what it means for GOD to be PURE UNCAUSED BEING.

Another transcendent and ineffable aspect of GOD that we have lexicographical means to contemplate is that GOD IS TRUTH ITSELF, not just metaphysical truth, but the even higher level or more profound form of truth that is MORAL TRUTH.

Yet another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS PURPOSE. We all have abstracted the notion that we have a purpose or that this life on Earth has a purpose. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this purpose to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS PURPOSE ITSELF.

Still another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS MEANING. We all have abstracted the notion that we have meaning or that this life on Earth has meaning. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this meaning to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS MEANING ITSELF.

Yet still another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS VALUE. We all have abstracted the notion that we have value or that this life on Earth has value. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this value to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS VALUE ITSELF.

Yet still another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS BEAUTY. We all have abstracted the notion that we have beauty or that woman are beautiful or that human life on Earth has beauty or that human sexuality is beautiful. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this beauty to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS BEAUTY ITSELF.

Still yet another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS GOOD. We all have abstracted the notion that we have ontological and moral goodness or that this life on Earth is good. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this goodness to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS GOODNESS ITSELF.

Still yet another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS WISDOM . We all have abstracted the notion that we can have wisdom or that various persons on Earth are wise. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this wisdom to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS WISDOM ITSELF.

Still yet another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS RIGHTIOUSNESS. We all have abstracted the notion that we can be right or that various persons on Earth are right in their behavior. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this righteousness’ to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS RIGHTIOUSNESS ITSELF.

Likewise, still yet another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS PERFECTION. We all have abstracted the notion that various persons can reach the first stage of perfection. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this perfection to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS PERFECTION ITSELF.

Still yet another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS RESPONSIBILITY. We all have abstracted the notion that various persons on Earth can be responsible in their behavior. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this responsibility to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS RESPONSIBILITY ITSELF.

Still yet another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS COMPLETENESS. We all have abstracted the notion that we various persons on Earth can be whole or complete in the existential psychodynamic and/or in the spiritual life . However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this completeness or wholesomeness to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS COMPLETENESS AND WHOLESOMENESS ITSELF.

Still another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS LIFE. We all have abstracted the notion that we can have spiritual life or that persons on Earth are alive. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates this life to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS LIFE ITSELF.

Still another such aspect of GOD is that GOD IS PERSONHOOD. We all have abstracted the notion that we are persons and angels and any ETI and UTI life forms are persons. However, the DIVINE REALITY elevates the mode of being of personhood to an inexpressibly perfect and higher form as GOD IS A TRINITY OF PERSONS, THRICE HOLY. GOD has the superabundance of PERSONHOOD by having THREE PERSONS, THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Still another aspect of GOD is that GOD simply EXISTS or is EXISTENCE TO THE INEXPRESSIBLY UTTERLY INFINITE AND UNBOUNDED SENSE.

Still another aspect of GOD is that GOD is  REAL or is REALITY TO THE INEXPRESSIBLY UTTERLY INFINITE AND UNBOUNDED SENSE.

Still another aspect of GOD is that GOD is UTTERLY AND ABSOLUTELY SIMPLE  in the sense of non-composivity as to HIS BEING or ESSENCE which are one with HIS EXISTENCE, HIS NATURE, and HIS ATTRIBUTES.

Still another aspect of GOD is that GOD is UTTERLY AND ABSOLUTELY TRANCENDENT. GOD is TRANSCENDENCE ITSELF

Yet still another aspect of GOD is that GOD is UTTERLY AND ABSOLUTELY LIMITLESS. GOD is LIMITLESSNESS ITSELF.

Given the extent of the human language and current level of abstraction, I could come up with many many more examples..

Perhaps GOD has and IS an absolutely unlimited number of such DIVINELY REIFIED ontological properties. We may be familiar with the concept of greater and lesser infinities from the mathematical work of George Cantor, a renowned late 19th century mathematician. Aleph 0 is accordingly the infinite number of integers, Aleph 1 is the infinite number of real numbers which is an infinitely greater set in terms of numbers of elements than Aleph 0. Likewise there should exist a unlimited and unbounded series of ever greater infinities such as Aleph 2, Aleph 3, Aleph 4, …, Aleph (Aleph 0),… and so on in a never ending eternal series. Heck, even between the integers of zero and one on the real number line, in abstract idealized space of course, there exist and infinite number of real numbers, even an infinite number of rational numbers.

As someone trained in physics and higher math at the undergraduate and at the graduate level to some degree and who has spent the last several years as a co-inventor and co-applicant on numerous patented and patent pending configurations of a certain class of technology, in all I have along with one of my brothers who is co-inventor and co-applicant about 12 issued patents in total in the U.S. and abroad, with numerous additional patents pending abroad, my practical science and technology oriented life as an inventor has not blinded me to the great transcendent reality of the ONE TRUE GOD, and neither should it do so for anyone else.

What I am about to propose that that the number of DIVINELY REIFIED aspects of GOD may be inexpressibly unimaginably greater than any and all cardinalities defined or abstractly denotable. This number may be truly super -Cardinal, or in a real sense eternally beyond the concept of infinity or cardinalities that we can abstractly discuss. And just, think we have all eternity to learn and grow in our fellowship, mutual love, and friendship with not only each other, but most especially with GOD, THE HOLY TRINITY and in EACH OF THE HIS THREE DIVINE PERSONS, THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.
As a Catholic, I find myself often pondering the most profound mystery for which we Catholics and other Christian denominations on Earth are aware of, and that is the very existential and ontological attributes of GOD, in particular that of the HOLY TRINITY.

We in the Western Tradition of Theology and Philosophy have a history of categorizing GOD in terms of Platonic or Ancient Greek ideals, concepts, or forms such as; pure absolute infinite being, all-knowing, immutability, perfect and infinite good, and the list goes on and on.

The language of modern psychology has given us new forms of language and associated concepts such as the concept and wordage of personality, interpersonal relationships, intimacy, and the like.

GOD is not just some abstract being that is impersonal, but rather is someone. Since the primary distinction between the Three Divine Persons is the fact that they are distinct persons, we can conclude that GOD also has the perfection of personhood, personality, etc., to the ultimate and absolutely unfathomable infinite extent.

Commensurate with this infinite perfection of personality is the ability for interpersonal relation and interpersonal intimacy among the Three Divine Persons. Thus, one aspect of the Holy Trinity is to be a Life of Pure Infinite Interpersonal Relationship or Intimacy.

I make these comments especially to all of those who have found themselves trapped in dysfunctional and hurtful relationships who are looking for something much greater, something that only GOD can provide.

Yes, the Church and Sacred Scripture teach that homosexual acts are wrong as well as fornication, adultery, and the like, however GOD is looking to share with you and me, in fact with all of us, his nature in a form that is pure, sinless, infinitely intimate and loving in manner. God loves you with a love beyond all imagining. This love is not just some abstract ultimate good or intellectual ascent to the great good you are. It is directed and oriented toward who you are as you. God would walk the road of the cross and crucifixion for each one of us if it were necessary for our salvation.

We again in the Western tradition have often categorized human make up as body and soul, intimately united so as to form one being or substance (in the ontological sense of the word), almost as if the Body was just an entity, the soul was just an entity, or the body/soul combination was just an entity. However, there is yet a deeper spiritual dimension within us and that is the “who we are” and not simply the what we are.

Our eternal destiny is to have this “who we are” raised to a supernatural level to a degree that we just cannot comprehend in this life. A great theologian, I forget his name, sometime around the late 19^th Century or early 20^th Century once said that we see just a glimmer of our souls in this life, as if the glimmer on a vast ocean infinite and unfathomable. Within our souls is a depth of being and an ocean of existence that is infinite and incomprehensible. This is how God sees us right now, not only  in our ontological makeup, but also in the concrete existential “who that we are”.

Our Lady, The Immaculate Conception and Mother of God and your spiritual mother and my spiritual mother is also waiting to embrace you with a tenderness beyond your comprehension as only a Mother can do who has had the existential and ontological nature of Her motherhood exalted above all other creatures to the throne of Her Divine Son by the power of God. Mary is truly the Queen of Heaven, the Queen of All Saints, the Queen of All Angels, the Queen of the Cosmos. For those of us who are mothers, be proud of you maternal and spousal vocation. Cherish your vocation.  For the greatest creature is the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is greater than every thing not GOD, greater than any ordained priest or minister, greater than any angel, greater than any Saint. GOD chose to exalt her to the throne of her Divine Son in likeness and glory. She is truly full of grace. I encourage all women to look up to not only Our Lord Jesus Christ, but also to His Mother. In an age where woman are still held back by so-called glass ceilings, are the victims of domestic violence in various places and cultures, and are mocked by others for bearing children, simply tell yourself that such negativism is sheer nonsense because how else would Jesus have been born to have a human nature if it were not for the maternal dignity of the womanhood of Our Lady.  Our Lord Jesus has the ultimate respect for the beauty and dignity of woman and the vocation to be a mother. After all, that is how he was incarnated into the world. 

GOD loves you with an interpersonal warmth and intimacy that we simply cannot comprehend on Earth. To paraphrase the Holy Bible, “GOD knew you before he formed you in the womb.”

I can well imagine that since GOD is inexpressibly exulted beyond all that we can comprehend and define, that the mystery of the HOLY TRINITY is just one of an infinite number of mysteries concerning the existential and ontological nature of GOD that we will have access to in the depths of all Eternity in the next life.

Again, GOD is the Supreme Truth who can neither deceive nor be deceived. GOD is infinite and absolute Truth, in both the moral and objective meanings of the word Truth. Moral Truth can be said to be the highest form of Truth which transcends the truth in the sense of whether or not a proposition is true. GOD is Perfect Truth.

 

In Revelation 21:16 GOD states “I am the Alpha and the Omega.

 

In Revelation 22:13, Christ says “ I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, and the living one’

 

GOD describes Himself with similar phraseology at other locations within Sacred Scripture, the point being that He is the only GOD, was the only GOD, and will always be the only GOD.

 

GOD is Charity in Itself

 

GOD is absolute, perfect, infinite LOVE itself.

 

GOD is all merciful LOVE

 

GOD is all compassionate LOVE

 

And GOD is all Nurturing LOVE

 

CHRIST, THE SECOND PERSON of THE HOLY TRINITY, TRUE GOD and True Man, is the Messiah, the Savior of the World.

 

GOD has the property of Circumincession. This property is a great mystery of the Intra-Trinitarian Life of GOD.  The property refers to the permanent mutual immanence, inexistence and com-penetration of each of the Three Divine Persons with one another. Accordingly, The FATHER is whole and entire in the Son, and in the HOLY SPIRIT, THE SON in the FATHER and the HOLY SPIRIT, and the HOLY SPIRIT in the FATHER and the SON. Each DIVINE PERSON is never, nor can They ever be separated from the Others. Each DIVINE PERSON is completely and totally GOD and each DIVINE PERSON is consubstantial with the other DIVINE PERSONS; THEY each Completely and Equally share the Same Divine Nature.

 

We can see how one of the chief mysteries of GOD as THE HOLY TRINITY is that GOD is  an absolute, perfect, flawless, unlimited, infinite, LIFE of PURE MUTUAL INTER-RELATIONSHIP among the THREE DIVINE PERSONS and that GOD is EACH and EVERY DIVINE PERSON.

 

The HOLY TRINITY or the ONE TRUE GOD, has the perfection of PERSONHOOD or PERSONALITY by virtue of HIS MULTIPLE PERSONHOOD or HIS TRIUNE NATURE. This perfection of PERSONHOOD is complete and utterly infinite and needs to be emphasized more often than it usually is according to my opinion.

 

Each of the THREE DIVINE PERSONS is distinct and separate yet they are of one and the same substance. They each share one and the exact same nature.

 

We as humans here on Earth, some times fantasize about the conjugal act of Love between a Man and a Woman, I must say I am guilty of such impure thoughts at times, and imagine the beauty and intimacy of such an act. This conjugal act of beautiful romance and passion has is analogue in the HOLY TRINITY in the form of in inexplicably, indefinably infinite love, and intimacy that each of the THREE DIVINE PERSONS EXPRESS toward one another. THE ONE HOLY TRINITARIAN GOD,  in each of HIS THREE DIVINE PERSONS is calling us to partake of this intimacy and love which knows no bounds. We are all called by name to share in this DIVINE LIFE through super natural grace. For GOD loved us and loves us so much that HE sent HIS ONLY SON, to die on the Cross for us so that we could be happy with HIM forever in ETERNITY.

 

GOD is the CREATOR of all things seen and unseen. HE is the maker of all things from nothing. HE sustains all things in existence by HIS Almighty Will and directs the universe. This does not mean that the universe could not have started with a Big Bang let alone the possibility that there might be an unlimited number of universes that have started this way or any other ways as GOD sees fit. Scientific cosmology in my opinion has more then demonstrated the  role of the Big Bang as the origin of our universe and that evolutionary processes have lead to the formation of Planet Earth and all of the other structures, be they of microscopic, mesoscopic, macroscopic, or of cosmic proportions.

 

My feeling is that what we know to be space and time, mass and energy, may simply be stable or meta-stable accidental properties, or should I say, substance like accidental properties that through one or more levels of ever more primitive realities, ultimately subsists in one or more directly created substances of essences which exist as created first principles maintained in existence directly by GOD’s all powerful Will.

 

GOD’s Divine Economy in reality is the Divine plan which embraces all creation, which in the “fullness of time” is to be “set forth in Christ”. Ultimately, this eternal unfolding of GOD’s plan as to its entirely is a great mystery to which we have not yet been given full access.

 

GOD is Eternal in the most absolute sense, and each of the THREE DIVINE PERSONS is likewise Eternal. This Eternity means timeless, without past or future.

 

GOD is immutable meaning that HE is incapable of change. The DIVINE NATURE being absolutely infinite and perfect in all ways and cannot be any better than it already is since such a would be reality of improvability would imply the possibility of GOD improving Himself, a notion that is incompatible with GOD’s complete and absolutely perfect  nature. Likewise the Divinity of JESUS CHRIST cannot grow in perfection since it is already absolutely perfect in every way. Christ Human nature being finite, is inferior to His Devine Nature, and the acquisition of a Human Nature by Christ by no means takes away or lessens His infinity greater Divine Nature. The Hypostatic Union does not confuse or take away the identity of either of Christ two Natures, Human and Divine, but rather accentuates His Human Nature. In Christ, there are two Natures, one Divine and one Human, united into one Person who is the Son of God, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity.

 

GOD’s Existence and Essence are one. GOD’s Nature and characteristics are one. GOD is not simply all loving, GOD is love. GOD is not simply all knowing, GOD is Knowledge. GOD is not simply all good, GOD is GOODNESSS; and the list of such identities goes on an on. I would hazard a guess that there are an absolutely unlimited number of such identities for which we have not yet developed the language nor the abstractions required to state them.

 

GOD is completely free. HE did not create the universe, or us out of necessity, but out of pure love, freely given in the act of creation and in the bestowing of the life of grace.

 

GOD is absolutely perfectly and completely simple in His Nature or Essence, which means the Divine Nature has no parts or pieces of any kind. There is not even a distinction or separateness between GOD’s Existence, Nature, Substance, or Essence.

 

GOD is omnipotent meaning that HE is ALL Powerful. GOD would not have allowed Evil if He could not draw and have drawn a far greater good from it. The mystery of Evil is something we are not capable of fully understanding, and a complete understanding of this mystery will come only in eternity in Heaven.

 

GOD is omniscient meaning that HE knows everything and has absolutely complete and unlimited knowledge. He knows the past, present, future, and eternity and all manifestations therein with absolute certainty including not only what was, what is, and what will be, but also each, and every possibility, even ones that will never be realized or come to be. GOD is Omniscience itself.

 

 GOD is the FIRST DIVINE PERSON, GOD THE FATHER, who sits on the THRONE in Unapproachable Light. Whose MAGESTY is Utterly Incomprehensible.

 

GOD is the SON of GOD, and the SON of GOD is GOD. THE SON of GOD is the only Begotten SON of  the FATHER, Eternally Begotten, and not made (not created).

 

GOD is the HOLY SPIRIT, who is not generated, but Eternally Proceeds from the FATHER and THE SON by a single spiration.

 

Yet each of the THREE DIVINE PERSONS is co-eternal, coequal, and con-substantial.

 

GOD has infinite and perfect unity. HE is absolutely and infinitely one. HE is Unity

 

GOD is infinitely and utterly absolutely beautiful. HE is  absolutely perfect Beauty itself.

 

GOD is of absolutely infinite, unlimited, and perfect Intellect. GOD is Intellect.

 

GOD as Christ is the DIVINE KING, THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE, THE KING OF HEAVEN, THE KING OF THE COSMOS, THE KING OF ALL CREATION.

 

GOD is INFINITE, PERFECT, ABSOLUTE, AND UNLIMITED PURE LIFE.  GOD is pure uncreated eternal perfect life itself.

 

GOD as THE HOLY TRINITY is a pure absolutely infinite, unbounded, perfect Life of mutual inter-relationship between HIS THREE DIVINE PERSONS.  He calls each of us by name to partake of His inner Life forever in Heaven.

 

Christ is GOD and is the Head of His Mystical Body, of which we are all members by virtue of Christ Life, Passion, Death  on the Cross, and Resurrections into Glory. This body is a real body in an analogous way that our physical bodies are bodies, and each of us human persons is a member of Christ’s mystical body. Long after the last mass is said, the last Host and Wine are consecrated into the Body and Blood of Christ during the Holy Mass, the last sacramental confession is heard, the last baptism is performed, the last confirmation is made, and the last ordination takes place, the  Mystical Body of Christ will endure, spotless and pure. And we, every single one of us, married, celibate, consecrated virgin, consecrated layman or lay woman, religious, deacon, priest, bishop, arch-bishop, cardinal, pope, single, divorced, sinner, saints (who are merely sinners who try), artists, scientists, trash collectors, social  workers, teachers, software engineers, physicists, entrepreneurs, doctors, generals, enlisted men and woman, police officers, security guards and the list goes on and on to represent every single person living on Earth; are all called to be members of Christ’s Mystical Body and each one of us is unique, irreplaceable, and necessary: We are all called by name.

 

GOD is absolutely infinitely peaceful. GOD is PEACE and wants to share that PEACE with each and every one of us and Calls each of us by name to that PEACE which surpasses all understanding.

 

GOD is infinitely absolutely Transcendent of the entire Cosmos, of all Creation, in the Heavens, in Heaven, in Earth, in Purgatory, in Hell, and in Limbo if such a state and/or place exists. GOD in no way needs the universe, but loves the universe and each one of us like a husband loves a wife or a wife loves a husband. GOD’s love for us is infinite and calls each of us by Name. Each of the THREE DIVINE PERSONS loves each and every one of us and calls each of us by name.

 

Our Jewish Heritage from the OLD TESTAMENT gives GOD a simple and beautifully profound name, YAHWEH, which is interpreted as I AM. Yes, GOD is so awesome that HE IS. HE IS UNCAUSED ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, INEXPRESSIBLY INFINITE AND PURE BEING.

As we struggle with the news of terrorist attacks, the development of WMDs by rouge terrorist sponsoring nations, the chaos that seems to be overtaking our climate, the various disasters that almost seem to be all the more common as of late, and just the hassles of everyday life, we can know that the whole human family in Heaven will be just that, a perfect family. No more suffering, anger, lack of respect, manipulation, envy etc., for our family of humanity will be so exulted in the quality of familial life that the Brady Bunch will look like Hell in comparison.

Many years ago, as I was having some personal trials and great difficulties, my sister Mary who we know is a devout Christian would console me with the words, “Jim, this life is just a stepping stone in eternity!”

We can all know that we are wanted by God, regardless of what we finally do in life. I personally have let many people down in life.  God will never let you down. He only builds you up.
